notes

Don't fall asleep with your leg bent. It hurts a LOT when you wake up :)

Also, never psych yourself into thinking you can do a lot more than you can. It gets disheartening. Just because I can bend my leg and lift my leg, it is still unbelievably weak and needs to be exercised a LOT before I can successfully use it.

However, Papa Johns is on the way. So I'm cheery.

AWWWW! Hey, at least you can BEND the knee, right? That's an improvement from the weekend!

When Daddy had his knee surgery and he was wondering how much to exercise, his doctor told him to let pain be his guide, and to do the exercises slowly -- you get more benefit that way, and it wasn't a race!

Also, you are correct that you will recover faster from surgery if you are in good shape going into it. With all the walking on campus before the accident, I'm sure you were in great shape!

As long as you are doing the exercises the doctor said were safe, and you are trying to stay as active as possible, I'm sure you'll do fine. (Hey, I'm still hoping that nothing is torn! What can I say, I'm an optimist!)

Hey! At least you aren't like Uncle Ozzie and having to have both knees replaced! And boy, you should see him go up the stairs now!

Love, Mom
