the paces are changing

Leg stuff is slowing down, school stuff is speeding up.

I haven't been posting as frequently, and that will continue to be the norm. Things are improving bit by bit, or mostly staying the same. I feel that this blog will get to a point where the posts are few and far between and then it just ends. But I guess that's how recovery is. I wasn't expecting to get so far so fast and then plateau for so long. Eh.

School is getting more intensive. LOTS of reading for history--we don't have tests, just papers. And oh my gosh. And then Arabic is one unit at a time, but that's like 4 new letters per unit. Eep. Audio Production is also a lot of reading, but not nearly as much as history. Media Relations is now going to be a TON of research. And Media History, that's namely discussion and reading one article per class period :)

So. Things are going fairly well as we head into mid-September. I am still without a job, so we'll see how that goes. I hope everyone else is doing well!

PLEASE, little darling, do not try to juggle a job now. Your 'plate' is full, to the overflowing point. Just continue your successful efforts and be so happy where you are. As for the plateau of your ACL recovery, it is just that. Hang in there.

Hey, remember when Greg told you you'd be at 89% in 6 MONTHS from surgery? As of yesterday, you hit your 6 WEEK anniversary!

Don't get discouraged, and even though you have reached a plateau, it's not yet "the end"!! Keep the faith, and keep on doing your exercises (and icing if needed). Remember how far you can backslide in strength and range of motion with just a few days of inactivity, and let that be your motivation to "soldier on"!!

Sounds like you are doing LOTS of reading! It's been a few years since you had your eyes checked, and you used to have a couple of pairs of reading glasses to use when your eyes were tired. Do you still have them?

If you start to notice eyestrain and headaches, get thee to a eye doctor for a check-up! Our insurance covers it! You can see an optometrist in Raleigh, you don't have to see your old one in Charlotte. I can get a referral for you if you need one.

OH! Our dentist called to say it's time for a visit for you, that it's been awhile since you've had that done. Laura really likes the dentist she is seeing in Raleigh -- our dentist referred her to that group. You may wish to have your dental stuff done in Raleigh as well! Lots more convenient for you!

Take care, do your exercises, and GET WELL and STAY WELL!

I know I've already commented (!), but I was just talking to Kathy. Roger also hit a plateau at about 6-7 weeks from his knee surgery. His PT said that was VERY common, but to keep up the exercises and don't get discouraged! The plateau lasts awhile and you'll think you're not making any progress at all, then all of a sudden you'll start making progress again -- if you kept up with the exercises.

Just thought you might like to know how a fellow recoveree is doing!
